    Hi all,
recently I was recording a tv show off abc onto a vhs (I record from vhs to pc) and this huge black box pops up in the middle of screen covering practicaly everyting up except for a few pieces at the edges. Is this some kind of new copy protection used by TV stations now, or what?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like a teletext window is popping up. On my TV that is option TEXT4, and since there are no data transmitted in the US, all I see is that black box with tiny parts of the original pic on the edges.

Maybe you should check your settings...?
