    I have Svcd made from dvd it plays fine on my pc but when it is played on my dvdplayer sony dvp ns305 the sound sounds heavy. the bitrate of the audio in svcd is 224. why would this be happening.

    But seriously, unless you tell the exact process of creating your SVCD from DVD it is difficult to analyze. Did you encode the audio separately or what ??

  3. No audio wasnt seperated, i used dvd2svcd.

  4. Well you could try this manual procedure. Though DVD2SVCD also does something similar.

    If you have the original DVD rip it to hd using DVDDecrypter. Make sure file splitting is set to "No Split" so that you get one big VOB file. Use TMPGEnc. Select MPEG Options > Simple Demultiplex. Open the VOB and split into audio & video streams. Convert the audio (probably AC3) to MP2 224Kbps bitrate at 44.1Khz. Use HeadAC3he for this.

    Now convert only the video with TMPGEnc to SVCD compliant M2V file. You have to select the video stream as MPEG-2 under advanced tab.

    Once you have both the M2V file & MP2 file then select the MPEG Options > Simple Multiplex option in TMPGEnc to mux the two streams into a MPEG file.

    Play the file and see if there is any difference.
