Ive got an avi file which is ok except the dang audio is about .5 second off. Im a noob at this, but from browsing on forums i gathered i needed to make sure the audio and video are same size. gspot shows video length as the same as goldwave shows audio length.

Is there some way for me to i guess rip the audio out, delay it a .5 second then remerge with the video?

Any help greatly appreciated and if you neeed more info, let me know how to get it

    thanks

  2. Try Virtual Dub and Gold Wave. Load the original video into Gold Wave. Add .5 seconds to the beginnning of the audio, then save it as a wave file. Load the original video into VDub, select Audio=>Wave Audio.... Save this file under a new filename. The new file should have audio in synch.

Or make sure that the audio isn't poorly encoded VBR. Virtualdub will tell you right away if it is - and if it is, do this:

    1. DON'T fix it. Say no.
    2. Save off the audio as a WAV.
    3. Make a new AVI (still with virtualdub) using "direct stream copy" for the video, and "WAV audio" for the audio, and compress it to CBR MP3 at a reasonable rate like 192. (Yeah you'll need an MP3 compressor...)
