  1. I recently purchased the Season 1 box set of '24' (tv series) and am attempting to make backup copies. I have the latest version of Decrypter, shrink, and anydvd but i cant seem to backup 3 out of the 6 total dvd's...Disk 1,2,and 6 ripped to my hd just fine using decrypter (before even getting anydvd)....they all seem to have an I/O error exactly 50% of the way through, they simply slow right down and then stop...then they retry over and over making a tiny bit of progress each retry until it finally just stops completely and no progress is made on retries (makes slight progress for about the first 5 or so retries, then stops). The light on my dvd drive goes out as well, so the disk just stops spinning and i find it hard to believe that 3 of 6 disks would be damaged. Seems to be VTS_02_4 on each disk. I've had absolutely no trouble in the past using decrypter or dvdshrink for that matter....i've been following steps that have to do with copy protection (which are mostly to use the latest decrypter, which i have, and the latest anydvd...which i also have)
Also, it seems that the only way i can get past it is to restart the process from VTS_02_06 and it'll continue....but of course 2 key VOB files are now missing....funny thing is that VTS_02_05 wont rip at all either, then decrypter asks me if i want to use copy protection from another file, and no matter what i get it to do, VTS_02_05 will not rip either.

PLEASE HELP!! If more info is needed, let me know.

    Thanks in advance

  8. wtf are you doing using anydvd, its not needed, for gods sake.
i used an earlier version of decrypter, and it did mine fine, ran them through dvd2one to make them fit a dvd5,and they play normally.
GET THE LATEST (3.5.4.0) VERSION OF DVDDECRYPTER.
sounds like a DMA issue on your drives....
I/O Errors are NOT bugs!!!! (well, not 99.99999% of the time anyway)
An I/O Error is my way of displaying a problem your drive had with the disc or your system config (mainly a disc problem though).

also, this guy had problems with dvd1 of that set, dont know how he got on,more than likely he fixed it.

I/O errors are an inability to correctly read the disk. This could be hardware, but most of the time with DVDs it is dirt, scratches, and now Arcoss. AnyDVD is faster to market than Decrypter when dealing with new disks. If the latest Decrypter wont' AnyDVD usually will.
