  1. i am guessing the dvd+r dual layer dvd's can hold thes amount of hours correct??

    HQ. 2 hours
    SP. 4 hours
    LP. 6 hours
    EP. 8 hours
    SLP. 12 hours

i will be recording in most likely in SP MODE on the ilo dvdrHD04 directly to DVD+RW's disks 3 of them to be exact then reauthor them with tmpgenc dvd author to combine the three dvdrw's to make one full dvd+r dual-layer dvd with the above mentioned hours..will then EDIT the dvdrw's remove commercials etc..

the shows i am recording last 30 minutes tops with commercials and 20 without commercials so i will be able to fit 12 epsisodes per disk using tmpgenc to reauthor the basic dvd+RW disks. to one massive dual layer disk..!!!

also if my calculations are correct if you were to record in LP mode on the ilo HD04 with 5 DVDRW's then EDIT and reauthor them with the above tools to one dual layer disk..

i will be able to hold 18 episodes of the show i want to record!!!

i would also like to point out i know the ILO cannot record to dvd+r DL i am just pointing out what could be done with dvdrw's and one dual-layer dvd using both the ILO and a PC dual layer burner!!

  3. I wouldn't go lower than 4000 bitrate, which is about 4hrs on DL, that is 8 episodes.
