  1. What is the collective wisdom of you video junkies? Looking for good/bad experiences, horror stories, that kind of thing. Do you or don't you. Why and why not, please.

I have been using cd stomper labeling system for my vcd's for the last few months. I have had no problems with them playing in my computer or standalone dvd players.

they sure do make a big differnece in the look of the cd's. As for color printer it would be best if the printer has a seperate black cart. For example my lexmark z42 has both a black and color cart. installed at the same time. Before I had a z11 which would only fit one at a time and I went through so much more color ink(mixing the colors to produce black uses a lot of ink).

    Hope this helps.

I have used cd stopmer for over 2 years with their labels and memorex brand labels, I have never had a label come of or a disk be unbalanced, very happy with it.

  4. I use Stomper as well, (but with Avery full sheet labels, cut out with an exacto knife).
I have, on occasion, found cdrs I have made which are showing signs of laser rot (which sounds like someone is dragging a brick on the ground) this may or may not be from label adhesives eating away the media layer. More research is required. CD manufacturers do not, however, reccommend labels for long-term storage, because of this possibility. They aren't even sure if it causes this yet.

  5. I have several audio CD-R's from 1998 that will no longer rip -- or rip at an extremely slow speed with errors -- that were labeled. All of my non-labeled CD-R's from this time work fine.

I've also had labels bubble and peel. I would say my luck has been bad, so I personally stay away from them.

Of course, if you have some big $$$ you could by a disc printer. I always wanted one of those, but to damn poor to get one!
