  1. I have been trying to encode a .asf to divx using FFmpegx, and for video, the results are fine, but for some reason every time I try to encode the .asf which has wmav2 audio it will not appear on the finished file. I have tried every audio encoding option, at both the asf's sample rate (44100) and the default (48000). Does FFmpegX handle wmav2 audio from .asf files? If so, what is the proper audio encoding scheme.

More detailed info from FFmpegX Progress. The info window says that there is no audio stream found, even though there is one on the file.

Maybe you are playing a non-interleaved stream/file or the codec failed?
For AVI files, try to force non-interleaved mode with the -ni option.

  2. The problem here is not audio, but video. wmv8 video is not supported. If you are only interested in the audio track, use the "Movie audio to mp3" preset.

  3. I'm not sure what you mean by 'not supported', I've had no problem encoding the video from the .asf I mentioned into mencoder divx, but as I said, the result is a video file with no audio. Using the Movie audio to mp3 option and by selecting Invert Mapping I was able to capture the audio track from the file. I am also able to encode the video from this .asf into mencoder divx, but the resulting video file has no audio. I haven't tried the Add Audio feature yet to combine the captured audio and encoded divx video but I believe that will solve my problem.

Thanks anyway, very fast support, amazing app.

  4. Sorry, video was indeed WMV2. You may also use "Mux as.. AVI" to combine the AVI without sound with the extracted sound, without re-encoding.
