  1. hi again

I thought i'd post my 2 problems in one thread...hope thats alright!

    1) I have a divx file which plays absolutely fine in windows media player, however the program "divxtodvd" doesnt want to open it. Also to note that usually windows xp shows the first frame of the video file as the tile in a folder, however for this file it doesnt and just shows a WMP icon. any ideas on how to fix it? I've tried divfix but that doesn't find any errors.

edit - doh...ignore this problem. I assumed it was a divx file - it wasn't. Its a nero decoder file. sorry!

edit again - Could someone let me know how to convert from nero video decoder to a dvd format? I'm just checking through google now but cant seem to find anything thanks.

    2) I have a huffyuv encoded file which is just over an hour long and want to convert it to DVD standard. I've tried divxtodvd again however this presents 2 problems - the first is that the audio is terribly out of sync (its perfectly in sync in the original file) and the second problem is that it creates 2 .vob files, the first just under 1gb and the second is the rest of the file.

I then tried using Xilisoft Video Converter however when i loaded the file into it it only recognised it as a 16 minute long file, when the file is over an hour.

Any ideas? And what is the quickest, easiest way for a noob (ie me!) to convert files ready for dvd authoring? Cheers.

I suggest you head over to the Convert section left, selecting "??? to DVD" and start reading. There are many formats to substitute "???" with.

  3. Cheers, i've done that and i just tried using "advanced x video converter" but it just converted the audio, and not the video! I'd rather someone just tell me if its at all possible to convert from a nero video codec to mpeg2 instead of clogging up my computer with trials of software

edit - just found out that the video codec is not nero video, but 3ivx. Any ideas on how to convert to standard .vob?

Get the 3ivX codec. Proceed as per usual for AVI to DVD conversions.
