Still trying to backup a region 2 disc of Resident Evil Apocolype,
ive read the forums so far and used DVD Decrypter to create a disc image file with the intention of using DVD Shrink to fit it to a DVDR, however im still getting the "invalid structure message" when i load the image file, any ideas what im doing wrong guys?
    Cheers

BTW i unchecked "Detect mastering errors" in Decrypter.

No no. Do not encourage him.

All "hey how do I beat this new copy protection" questions should be answered first by saying "GET THE LATEST DVD DECRYPTER". When that fails, we need to find the person and hit them in the mouth.

  6. I had the same problems with dvd decrypter until I got the latest version then it worked like a charm...but since I do not use dvdshrink I can not tell you if it will work. Why not try to use DVDRB instead I worked for me...

It is rare that the latest version of decrypter doesn't work on these disks, and it is very common that people swear blind that they have the latest version of decrypter, you know, version 3.1.2.0, so Gurm's frustration is understandable. The only other program that seems to hit these disks as well as or better than decrypter is the latest version of AnyDVD. It is also updated more frequently than decrypter, so it is more likely to catch up with any subtle changes to the tricks earlier.

  8. Do you have another version of DVD Decrypter installed? If so uninstall. If not check the settings on dvddecrypter

Did you uninstall your old version of DVD Decrypter? I'm not trying to be mean, but you have NO idea how many people go "I have the latest" and then have 3.1.2.0, seriously one guy SWORE he had the latest and after like 3 days finally said "yeah 3.1.2.0!"

You MUST uninstall the old one first. I don't know what it leaves hanging around the machine, but it's best to completely uninstall before reinstalling, and to make sure that you're using all the stock settings.

  11. If that doesn't work try taking it back to the video rental store and requesting a different copy.

    Oh c'mon.

    *sigh*

I am going to write a new forum software, where in order to make your first dozen posts you have to answer a series of increasingly difficult questions designed to make sure you've READ THE DAMN FAQ.

UPDATE - as for AnyDVD i cant comment, i didnt use it, i decided to do a reinstall of my XP, no real prob as i keep all my files on another HD and use the other solely for my OS, anyway since doing this i have succesfully copied the disc in question, using latest DVD Decrypter and DVD shrink. Im guessing somewhere along the lines i had a conflicting DLL or something, anyway guys thanks again. 8)

    cant believe that,what a dumbass.
if he did a movie only copy it would have been fine,or even used dvd2one,and deleted the 0meg cells, before chapter 1.
