  1. I installed the codec and it does not appear as one of the rendering options in Vegas.

  2. I loaded Video Codec Swapper and I see the codec listed there, so it did install properly.

    Uninstall, then reinstall VEGAS,
    , and PUT THE CODEC back in in the INTERIM.
    this usually does it.
    Which XVID CODEC version did you choose?
    this may also affect the outcome
    XviD 1.1.0-beta2 release. or
    Koepi's XviD Codec v1.0.3 ?

  4. It turns out that it is accessed through the Video for Windows option. It's working now.

    I understand..you didn't know where to look for installed codecs!
    by the way, they always do this in applications (UNDER .AVI) because WINDOWS direct x has classified all MPEG-4 as WRAPPED in an AVI header..
    pretty f**cking confusing, but if you think it was a political bias against open source codecs, youre wrong
    cause the confusion between liscensed MPG1 and MPG 2
    is equally hidden in their idioctic choices to lump all together in the same file ending!
