I just recently picked up a "Personal Cinema GeForce FX 5700 MultiMedia Video Card, 8x AGP, 128MB DDR" from Compusa. The FX 5700 replaced an ATI Rage Fury Pro. The reason for the change? - DVI output and Dual monitor support. Well after completing the swap and getting the dual monitor feature to work with my TV, I am settling back into my standard video processing mode. I have the following questions:
1. When I attempt to run DVD-Lab, the graphics slow down to a crawl. Specifically, I import a movie (no problem), I then place it into the project and try to scroll through to place chapter marks and the computer just SLOWWSSSS DOWN. This was a feature of DVD-LAB that I loved - rapid reliable scrolling through the movies. This is a major pain!!! PLEASE HELP. I have checked Task Manager and the problem does not lie at the CPU. Also Windows reports that the Vid Card is running in AGP mode. So could this problem be with the new card? Old drivers?? (I have tried to remove everything ATI, but I get an error during the uninstall)
2. I have the video card driving a Samsung Syncmaster 930B LCD monitor (via DVI output). It seems to be running fine, but the card does not allow me to change my refresh rate. The only refresh rate available is 60Hz while both the card and the monitor claim support up to 75 Hz. This is not a big deal for me, but it nags me that this new system does not offer the flexability I was expecting.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

1) Uninstall the old ATI drivers if you have not already done so, the download the newest drivers for yoiur new card. This might be causing the slowdown.
2) LCD monitors running in digital mode have no refresh rate, so the default is set at 60Hz on the video card. It supports 75MHz in analog mode only. Don't worry about this. Digital mode is less stressful on the eyes in my opinion.TANSTAAFL -
Thanks for the suggestion. I found a rather useful utility that seems to have gotten me past the uninstall of the ATI drivers (utility: Driver Cleaner Pro). This however did not solve my graphical slow down. I am begining to consider replacing my OS drive and starting with a clean system. If anyone has any other suggestions I am open.
Also Prot, thanks for the info regarding digital mode. I kinda wondered if that was the case, but I had not read anything that stated it so diffinitively.
