  1. Ok so if I take a dvd that I have and back it up using DVDX COPY Platinum, making just a copy and letting it do all the work it works just fine and dandy on my PS2 and all the other dvd players in my house, but I have tried taking movies that I have on my computer, and using Nero DVD-Video option, and burn the files that I have on my computer, it does not work on my PS2, yet works just fine on all the other dvd players in my house. I have a good quality DVD burner(NEC 3520) and good quality discs, Taijo Yuden, does anyone know what the deal is and how I can rememdy this, thnx in advance!!

  2. What are you using to author the movies? Maybe PS2 cant read the files in the current format ie avi, or mpeg.... I have used TMPGEnc DVD Author on -r disk and they work fine.

  3. yeh,dont use nero.
try ripping a movie with dvddecryter,if its a dvd5(previously backed up movie on a dvd-r),then pick iso read, iso write, and see if that works.
it should do,and for original movies, use dvddecrypter, then dvdshrink to make them fit a dvd blank, then burn with copytodvd,or like minded software, giving nero a wide berth and that should be the problem solved.

  4. i was not authroing the dvds per say i guess, just letting DVD X Copy do all the work, or nero do all the work, for dvd that im not making a copy of, i basically have the video_ts file on my harddrive, then open nero DVD-Video option, selesct the file and it gets er done...but dont work on the PS2 unless I do a direct copy using DVD X Copy, which i guess shrinks it for me and all that good stuff.

Ill try using that DVD author program I guess, since DVD X Copy makes it all work just fine for me

  6. those tools i mentioned are freeware.
i just thought you could try it once, and see.
ive replied to a few people with similar probs to you,and its worked for them, funnily enough.
just another workaround i guess, but it does solve the dvdlab bug.
