    Hi there.

Right, been having a spot of bother burning some files to disc using Ulead DVD Movie Factory 3.

Problem 1. I'm trying to join 2x 1hr clips togethor, however for some reason and despite altering the project encoding settings so that the clips should fit onto disc, the program says that there is unsufficient space on the disc to burn the encoded files on. However if I DON'T join them togethor and burn them as 2 seperate clips, they fit perfectly on the same settings

Problem 2. If I burn the files to an ISO image or VOB file and use DVD shrink to try to compress them down in size I get an error message saying "unable to continue, file parameters incorrect" right at the end. Despite the fact the files preview fine prior to hitting "backup".

Other interesting things to note, when burning to a file on the HD, despite the project settings saying the files should be 3.9gb in size they are always just over 7GB. As this doesn't happen when 2 clips are left seperated I can only assuming its something to do with the joining process.

    Anyone know what's going on?

Have you applied all the DMF 3.0 patches from Ulead's support pages?

I've applied both the patches on the website, still getting same results.

Only differance being that when trying to encode on Ulead now, I get a warning saying the file will be actully be bigger than it says. For some reason it doesn't seem to be compressing the file sizes when the 2 clips are joined.

Though this doesn't explain why I can't use DVD shrink to compress them.

Try Tmpeg DVDAuthor, much easier and faster than Ulead, then compress using DVD Shrink. DVDAuthor will tell you ahead of time if there's a problem.
