    Has anyone played a NTSC format dvd movie in europe on a PAL television set? and how does it look?

    Like NTSC. I'm not in Europe, but Australia ia PAL and I watch NTSC disks all the time on PAL kit (including a German TV). Some disks have obvious scanlines, some don't. Sometimes the colour doesn't reproduce exactly the same as PAL (there is a reason NTSC is referred to as Never The Same Color). Otherwise it plays fine. The normal punter probably would not notice the difference.

    For Europe, Television sets are both NTSC/PAL compatibale. Here in the UK, i played 100s of NTSC DVDS on my PAL equipment.
