  3. I think the best thing to do is go ahead and make your DVD up with whatever authoring software you are using, but instead of outputting to a disc, output to a DVD folder containing the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS subfolders on your hard drive.

Then start up DVD Shrink and pick the folder that you have created. Compress the full folder (should be about 98% compression - there wont be any noticeable degradation in quality) down to the necessary size, and then burn the .ISO with your burning software. If you dont have software that can burn disc images, you should download DVD Decrypter.

You need to get it down to 4.383GB (4,706,074,624 bytes) for DVD-R, or 4.377GB (4,700,372,992 bytes) for DVD+R

    cheers

I'd agree with everyone on Shrinking it. But just in case, check what type of audio you used for your disc. If you used LPCM audio, that's taking up lots of space. In this case, to retain your video quality (as it is now), you could switch to a compressed audio format like Dolby Digital or mpeg audio (mpeg audio not an NTSC standard, so some NTSC DVD Players won't play it). This will take your audio track size down, giving you even more room for extra video

Play the video vob files in your project ... good advice about checking the audio format used ... if it is LPCM ... then convert it to AC-3 with the TDA AC-3 plugin.

Lots of extra space is used for LPCM audio.
