  1. HI,How can i tell if my sound card is bad. I am trying to capture footage from dv to my hd, I am using windows movie maker and/or MGI video wave. I am able to capture the video footage but cant get any sound with either program. thanks for any help

    Need more details..what version of videowave? I am quite familiar with it. Exact method of transfer? etc. The settings of "something" is most likely the answer unless your sound card is fried then you'd probably know it already. Peace

    Video wave 4, I have an S-cable and the red/yellow/white cables plugged in to "dazzle" digital video creator 80. If I just use the s cable I here sound comming from my camera but only video get captured. If I use the s-cable and the red/white sound cable and plug them into th av port I dont ever here sound form the camera. I am so lost?

    if the sound is coming out of the camera then it is "there" plug the audio output in to your sound card directly maybe via your microphone plug and adjust your settings accordingly. I had the same problem before CHECK ALL YOUR SETTINGS in every program involved in the process..Peace
