Just a quick question; what is the difference between the two
If [in vcdeasy for example] I have the option which is best?, my DVD player lists 1.0/1.1/2.0 in its compatability list
I take it 2.0 would be the one to go for?, or does it not really matter?

1.0 won't have menu or chapters,
2.0 allows for chaptering on a single file & menu (aka PlayBack Control = PBC) -
there are more differences than that, but you could google it and get 1000 hits probly...

VCD 2.0 supports PBC, or playback control. That is, you can have menus, and the like.
VCD 1.1 does not (the VCD player will just play the disc from beginning to end -- i.e., like an audio CD).

Each version added new features, eg. menus, additional resolutions to support PAL video, support mixing PAL and NTSC on one disc.
For additional specifics, get the Philips VCD toolkit - it's in the docs./\/\ars /\/\ayhem
