I tried ripping a disc produced in a friend's Daytek DP-30 DVD recorder but DVD Decryptor (3.14) only rips 3.99 Gig of the DVD+R disc, then stops. Windows Media Player sees the entire 4.67 Gig and the full menu. Operating system in Win XP Home running on a 2.4 GHz P4 and the drive says that it is NTFS. I also tried to rip the disc with DVD Shrink but I get an I/O error and Shrink won't go any further. Any help muchly appreciated...
For myself, I don't have this problem using DVD-RAM discs on my PIII 1 GHz, so it's a bit of a puzzle to me...

Have you tried running the latest version of DVD Decrypter (3.5.4.0) ? DVD's aren't NTFS, so Windows is either confused, or you are miss-reading something. Regardless, decrypter doesn't just stop. It either finished, or reported an error.
And I've just re-read while typing this, and have to ask - exactly what type of disk it is ? Is it DVD+R or DVD-RAM ?
Start by updating DVD Decrypter and trying again.Read my blog here.

If you are trying to read a DVD +R on a RAM drive it will give you problems.
There is nothing illegal, until you get caught! -
It shouldn't since it is an LG "all format" drive. I use mine to rip discs, copy RAM to the computer HDDs, etc. on my PIII system. My friend is having problems with his though...
I'm thinking it's a setting problem either with the drive or the software. I'll check the latest version of DVD Decryptor and see what happens... -
He needs to extract 5 TV programs from the VOB file BUT Decryptor stops at the 3.99G mark even with the setting to not split VOB files. That makes it sound like it's a Windows error. We also tried to open the disc in DVD Author and it also sees only 3.99 Gig of the disc. It is actually 4.67 Gig and Windows Media Player sees the whole thing! Very frustrating...
I thought it might be a partition error as there is only one drive in the system but it lists in My Computer as being NTFS. -
DVD Author sees all programs with out of sync sound
Womble Mpeg Video Wizard does not see the whole file but sound is in sync. Also when fast forwarding, then quickly rewinding, it brings up the missing program!
DVD Decryptor says Pack Errors when ripping to the HDD
DVD Lab sees all the separate programs but freezes when attempting to edit anything.
I'm thinking my friend should try to cap each episode separately or else try to do the same thing without editing on a rewriteable disc. Editing on the disc you are burning to usually results in out of sync errors when copying to the hard drive on the computer from DVD-R made with my Panasonic, so I'm wondering if this is the same problem...
Anyone else have problems transferring content with the Liteon 5001/Daytek DP-30? -
Okay! I found a solution:
