  1. i just upgraded my ilo HD04 with a 160gig HD and the recording times have doubled on just about everything..

here is the new time for recording to the HDD in the ilo..

    31 hours of HQ
    60 hours of SP
    89 hours of LP
    117 hours of EP
    176 hours of SLP

thats a major improvement i would say..

i am also impressed by the overall system response of unit now that it has an 8meg buffer HDD in it..

now i can record my favorite shows all day without running out of space woot!!

i couldnt have done it without normando thanks your a life saver when comes to the ILO HDO4..

I have not bought this unit "yet" as I hve been setting on the sidelines reading and waiting for fixes for the complaints.

I did a search on "normando" and read through the various threads but other than him just saying he formated large drive with fat32 and install and that the drive worked, he only reported recored times of ?33 hr.

Did I miss a post? What steps did you need to do? Thanks

  3. techolio.com has the guide to updating your hardrive in the ilo..

i formatted it with my windows CD and did a complete backup of the ilo drive then used system restore in windows to restore the ILO files to the new 160 gig and thats all their was to it..

normando's guide is pretty straight forward its just that i had trouble copying the files but that was easily fixed by backing up the entire drive..

  5. A quick question about the HD upgrade. If you "erase" the drive via easyguider does the HD revert to an 80 GB partition??

    Thanks

Yes... if you have the HD04 format the drive via the system tools menu it will reformat your large hard drive as a single 80GB partition. This is why I have created the guide called "Formatting Large Hard Drives as FAT32 in WIN XP/2000" on my website. (The link to my site is 2 posts up.)
