I was in Staples this weekend to pick up some DVD+R's. They had a 50 pack of Memorex for $19.94. When I check to see where they were made it said India. What's with that? I decided to pass them up. But I did pick up a 25 pack of Staples brand for $7.94. Here is the Media Information:

Moser Beaur in India. Not the greatest, 3RD class or so, about 50-80% success rate overall. On par with PRINCO or LEADDATA.

Thanks, lordsmurf. So I guess I ended up with Indian product anyways. Oh, well. I guess for 8 bucks I can give them a try. Who knows, they may even work fine. Stranger things have happened.

  4. I've seen mostly good results with this media, to say it is a 50-80% success rate is laughable.

Here's a bunch of tests of the media, the ONLY drives that show any trouble burning the discs are some Liteon burners, which are generally poor DVD burners to begin with judging from the amount of media they struggle with:

  5. I bought a spindle of TDK PrintOn 8X DVD+R at Costco with media code MBIPG101R04. It burns very well at 12X with my NEC3520 (L&D 1.U9 firmware).
