  1. I'm trying to copy (burn) a DVD set using DVD Shrink. It will allow me to do the 1st but with the rest I get the following error:

    failed to read file
    Data error (cyclic redundancy check)

Anyone know what this means? Is there a new technology preventing the copying of DVDs? Is there a way around it?

    Thanks to anyone who responds.

    Everything is up to date.

try ripping the disc with DVD DECRYPTER to your hard drive first then use DVD SHRINK. if you continue to get that error it could be your disc is smudged or scratched.

  3. Thanks for your reply. I did as you suggested and it worked for two of the DVDs. I have just one to go and see it is dirty/scratched so DVD Decrypter can't read it. What is the best way to clean a DVD? Rubbing alcohol?

    Thanks again for your help.
