Wow! I’ve had so much great help here! I can’t help, but be curious about all the damage I can do with Video editing - lol!

With saying that, I'll explain my situation.

Would a large External Hard Drive be a good option for someone with the following in mind:

    WHAT I PLAN ON DOING
    - I host a Weekly Variety Show in a Lounge in my city.
    - I plan on making videos for my audience to view. I would like to show these videos through a computer with the aid of a Projector.
    - I want to take raw short clips out of my Show and adding minor effects to them (with the Video Editing program I have – let’s say Vegas Video).
    - Create short 2 to 15 minute sketches for my audience to view. I would be recording these all over the city and editing them with lots of effects!

HOW WOULD I ACCESS THE EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE?
    - I was thinking of doing it with the Laptop I own:

For what I want to do, would an External Hard Drive (say 160 GB) be a good option?

You guys have actually got me excited about what I can do with Video…even though I don’t understand all the terms – but I’m trying

  2. Yes, an external harddrive will be fine. I use 3 or 4 external harddrives on my laptop without a problem.
