Frequently, when I convert divx avi movies to DVD, I get duplicate subtitles (of different fonts) displayed on screen. I use TMPGEnc 2.5 and use ffdshow. I also have directvobsub installed.
The subtitles are contained in srt files and when I preview them in TMPGEnc, only one set of subtitles appears.
I have the direct show priority set to 3. I've tried reducing this to -1 and, naturally, I get no subtitles at all.
Has anyone come across this before?
If not, I am unfamiliar with the codecs, filters etc, so any information explaining how TMPGEnc deals with the srt file to embed the subtitles into the video would be gratefully appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Just disable directvobsub or ffdshow. Encode a short clip to check that you can see one subs. I think it is the directvobsub you wont see if you just use the tmpgenc preview.
