I have a Hauppauge USB 2.0 PVR. Is there a simple, inexpensive way for me to enable a client computer on my network to control the PVR to watch tv, record, etc. I know that software like Beyond TV or Sage TV will allow clent computers to do this, which costs $100+. Any other way to do this using the existing Hauppauge software and a chepaer add-on piece of software?
I have XP home. I assume media center edition allows this. Would remote access on XP Pro allow this? That's more $ than Beyond or Sage to upgrade but gives you other functions too.
I actually tried mywebexpc, a free remote access service just to see what would happen. I was able to see the pvr screen but no remote picture or sound. Ths remote access allows messes with someone using the computer that has the pvr connected.

Maybe I should have done a search first.
Found this guide here:

I'd still be curious to know what the latest thinking is here on networking tv. -
VideoLan. Easy, free, what more could you ask for?
