    i want to listen to my sound from my computer. i have MX5100VR DVD/VCR HOME THEATER SYSTEM.
    IT has s-video out,audio video(l-r),Digital audio out-coaxial,rf-out, . my pc has tv out but i only want to get the sound played using my dvd player. what cable and how do i connect it.the subwoofer is connect to the home theater

    Check again. DVD Players are output only devices. I wouold be very surprised if your player has video or audio in.

    Do you have an amp ?
    What sort of subwoofer is it ?
    How is the subwoofer connected to existing kit ?

    If you want digital audio connection from you pc to a receiver, check you motherboard specs for the ability to use a SPDIF adaptor straight from the motherboard (cheaper than a soundcard and works for my HTPC)
