whenever i convert any video file with EO, the comverted file is always much larger than the original file:

    eg: orginal - 699mb
    after conversion - 22 GB

could someone tell me how to fix this problem? Any help would be much appreciated....Thanks in advance

  3. your converting something which is a divx or xvid (avi) into an uncompressed avi

    why would you do that
the 699mb avi (of questionable source) will fit on a cd

if you want to play back on a dvd player convert to mpeg2 using an encoder like tmpeg or tmpgenc express

if you want to cut say the credits off the end or just a chunk out of it

people really need to know exactly what you want to do before it is possible to give advice

  5. rmvb is similar to Divx and Xvid. Try Xvid in quantization mode with a Q setting around 3 or 4. Remember the audio too -- you'll probably want MP2 or MP3.

Do 2 passes with the same bitrate as the original rmvb file and you will get the same size, plus or minus the difference in overheads.
