I made a couple of mpg videos (1.5 hrs each) dvd quality ntsc, with an ati all in wonder. On my main system I can use TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.6 to edit these videos with no probs, all the functions work flawlessly. I just bought a compaq laptop with amd64 3400 nvidia 440 64ddr nforce 150 chipset. now the mpegs will not work properly in edit part of TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.6. there is no story board and the video hangs after playing for a few secs in the editor. This same videos works with no probs on other system with the all in wonder. So what can it be with this laptop that it will not edit these files i made. ..video card drivers? mpg decoders?

Well seems I solved my own problem. I was a using a 2.5 100 gig HD in a usb 2.0 enclosure. I would copy my files from main system to the hd..Then copy them to the laptop. Seems my port may have been a little underpowered. So my writes to the drive may have been comprised by this prob. I purchased a 4 port powered hub for 2.0. and the files seem to ok from 2.5 drive now. when I copy the files to laptop using same setup (hub) at work tonight that will be real test. I will post results. anyone else have a similar prob like this.

ok the problem is confirmed now the files copied to laptop with the powered port are perfect. So kiddies don 't do a Djbri make sure your usb 2.0 stuff is on a powered port. specially video and pictures that are keepsakes.
