Hmm, americans trying to understand Keeping Up Appearances - don't bother. It's not a great show. Not worth you trying to wrap your head around all the rather weak, deeply ethnocentric jokes

Now, Red Dwarf, that's one you can savour.

I've been catching repeats of Knight Rider on the Bravo channel recently and can't decide if Michael is gay or a paedophile..... the whole premise is just a little bit silly now, but at the time of course, it was the coolest thing in the world. Ever notice how when chasing someone, and they start getting away from him.... Michael will decide it's time to use super hyper boost or whatever.........
...and you get a shot of the dashboard a couple seconds after he floored it....
    ...kitt is just passing 60mph.

What, was he chasing them dead on the limit through a 45 zone???

Oh, and still waiting for the 4th DVD of Dogtanian (i refuse to buy the "entire series" set that's now out, as i bought the first 3 discs seperate!)......

and Mysterious Cities of Gold on DVD, of course!

Transformers in 3D... after the unholy mess of Beast Wars, etc, they are really going to have to try very hard not to make it ******* awful. The movie was hand drawn and pretty good, even though the motion could be ropy in places and there was a little too much new-product pushing.
-= She sez there's ants in the carpet, dirty little monsters! =-
Back after a long time away, mainly because I now need to start making up vidcapped DVDRs for work and I haven't a clue where to start any more!

I really miss the original TV show, "The Millionaire," starring Marvin Miller as Michael Anthony ... an attorney and private secretary of multi-billionaire, John Beresford Tipton. Every week, Tipton would assign Anthony the task of handing out a certified tax-free check for $1,000,000 to someone Tipton picked at random. And, the show would follow the recipient's life to see what they did with the money.

Another TV show I miss is an old British drama series that lasted only one year - "The Human Jungle," starring Herbert Lom as a psychiatrist who becomes involved in the private lives of his patients in an attempt to cure them.

Other TV shows I miss include "Sea Hunt," "The Whirlybirds," and two shows that would have lasted much longer had the writing not gone beyond being bad -- "The Time Tunnel" and "Voyage To The Bottom of the Sea."

  11. Obviously I am a bit older than the average age here but Gerry Anderson's finest hour - http://www.bbc.co.uk/cult/anderson/scarlet/

Remember watching that as a small child in the very early 70s and spending the rest of the week being the good Captain.

I never really liked Bagpuss, maybe a bit after my time - Mr Benn was always a favourite of minel

Course there was also Thunderbirds, until someone released that dreadful unbelievably bad Film last year!

I don't live in the UK either, but I have seen Fawlty Towers on PBS. They're also this show called "Keeping Up Appearances" about this quirky woman who always trying to be better than everyone else. It's British too. It comes on PBS Channel 12 or I hear if you have the Digital Cable it comes on the "BBC America" channel.

Funny thing is, I've been in the UK alot, never seen Fawlty Towers or "Keeping Appearance" on their TV but they play a lot of old America movies! Theire TV left is not so great there. I'm glad that I do not live in the UK.
Fawlty Towers along with a lot of great old british sitcoms are shown regularly on UK gold. Available on satellite and cable

Speaking of old British TV comedy shows, a question. In one Monty Python's Flying Circus show, there was a very politically incorrect segment on "gays in the British Army." It showed a detachment of British soldiers in formation, marching ... and "swishing" as they marched ... as well as calling out a cadence in high squeaky voices.

    Based on this episode guide:

    http://bau2.uibk.ac.at/sg/python/FlyingCircus.html

in which episode did this skit occur?

For the oldtimers, I use to watch this show in reruns during the eighties, Battle of the Network Stars. Show was kind of cool.

Here are a few Kids shows that may have been over looked.

Davey and Goliath, The Land of Oz, Big Blue Marble, G-Force, Robotech, Great Space Coaster, Thomas The Tank, Gumby, Commander Tom (Rocketship 7)
    I'm sure there is more....

    For Canadians:
The Uncle Bobby Show, Mr. Dress-Up, Rocket Robinhood, Hammy Hamister, The House Of Frieghtenstien.

Regarding Benny Hill, Gotta love the little blad man. Little tap on the head always killed me!!!
