Sorry 'bout this but the glossary does not include a definition for DEMUX. What exactly is it? It seems that it may mean to extract? I/m not sure though. anyone?

Mux is short for multiplexing. Demux is "de-multiplexing." Being a newbie at this myself, I understand it as separate audio and video files. Like when you decode a DVD, there is the M2V file and the AC3 file. Demuxed, they are separate files; muxed they are one file..or is it the other way around? See, I like to answer questions when I don't really know the answers...
Someone more knowledgeable should chime in before I go any further... -
