  1. I was at BJ's Warehouse club the other day and they had 50 packs (spindle) of Fuji -R Japan for just under $20 if I remember right. I haven't been following this forum in a couple of months, so was wondering if these are still considered pretty good media.

    Thanks.

Any FUJI DVD-R package that says MADE IN JAPAN is still the good Taiyo Yuden DVD-R discs.

BEST BUY has 50 packs for $19.99 from time to time on sale (their regular price is $39.99).

    BUY IT !!!

  4. Fuji is very good media indeed. Even the +RW come with the lifetime warranty. I had some freezing on me and got them exchanged for free thru the mail. I will purchase Fuji's media as long as they continue to put out quality product and back it up.

  5. Thanks everyone. Glad to hear the "Made in japan" fuji's are still TY. I will definitely pick up a stack.

  6. They don't store well on spindles is the only drawback. The Fuji discs I have on spindles are all getting little dots on the outside edges. I have a brand new spindle that every disc looks like that already, wheather they will even burn the whole disc, I don't know.

I don't like TY, but most people do. Good discs, yes.

Hmm...interesting to know. I'll probably pick up a stack anyway if I am remembering the price right. I can always pick up some slim cases to store them myself if they are OK at purchase.

Why don't you like them if they're good discs?

One of his favorite burners does not get along with TY media, this is why. (I believe). Personally, I think it's a good characteristic to have - admitting that he dosnt in particular like this media - yet not degrading it, and making it known that it's still good media.

  12. I think I'm one of the VERY few who actually looks for and buys Fuji -R "Made in Taiwan". I have never had one single issue with the ProdiscF01 media that is in those spindles. I guess other people have had issues, for whatever reason.

Of course, the TY is also just as reliable. In my experiences, anything FujiFilm -/+R is great. I just have a hard time finding the "Made in Japan" spindles so I stick with the next best thing

    @Bix
My BTC burners cannot use TY media. My Pioneer burners have also been known to leave burn rings on some of the discs. I also do not like the dye type used, it's not an AZO like MCC, TDK, PRODISC, etc.

I think it's more a case of FUJI's TY media that I dislike. The bulk TY media seems to not do this as much, the burn rings. But that could be imagination, with all TY doing this.

At any rate, I don't like. Not for me.

But it's still good media for most people. So enjoy! More for you!

  17. Just a quick update since I finally made it back to BJ's...I was wrong about the price...the 50 disc spindle is 29.99 not 19.99...still a good price IMO for the Fuji MIJ -Rs.

  19. BJ's Warehouse has +/- R's 50 for $20 with coupon, available at the door for this week only. I got one of each. I'm not sure where they're made, but they're good....
