I'm having problems converting a avi file to vcd/svcd. I just installed a new ffdshow march 3rd build and ever since been having sync problems. When I use the "Cue-Edit" to shorten the length of the avi file and I encode it to vcd/svcd I get audio and video out of sync problems on the vcd/svcd file. Before the new ffdshow build I had no problems. I'm using the new ffdshow because I need it to playback other files that is why I upgraded. I sometimes get the same problem when I'm playing avi files on Media Player Classic. I skip 5 minutes forward and the audio and video is out of sync. Appreciate any tips and advice. Thanks.

If ffdshow is giving problems then try use other software. Use VirtualDubMod to demux the audio and video from the AVI file. If audio is AC3 then convert to WAV using BeSweet or HeadAC3he. Then use the extracted video & converted audio in TMPGEnc to encode to VCD/SVCD by selecting the desired template.
When I was born I was so shocked that I could'nt speak for 18 months.
