  1. Hello All,

I have a bit of a Question/Dilemma, I have a PowerBook (15") and a Dolby Digital/Pro Logic Amp. Since my PowerBook has no optical or coaxial digital port I have to content myself with analogue audio, which would be fine if i could get the Pro Logic part to work... But I can't.
When I watch a movie with AC3 audio, the only signal coming out of my beautiful PowerBook is plain normal stereo sound... With my PC (and i HATE to say this...) thanks to AC3Filter it sounds beautiful, although not AC3, it still isn't that bad...
Is there some piece of software that transcodes AC3 audio to Dolby Pro Logic on the fly as I watch a movie? I can't find any Quicktime component able to do this, I haven't properly tested VLC, but it seems to have the exact same problem, Stereo, but no pro logic...

Any suggestions other than buying M-Audios Transit?

    Thanks,

    JMufla

  2. So, did anyone find a way to transcode from AC3 to Dolby Pro Logic II?

Aside from the Transit, Miglia has the Harmony Express which provides a "virtual" 5.1 sound. http://miglia.com/products/audio/harmonyexpress/index.html

  4. OK, I guess I was asking something different to what the first poster did.

Does anyone know of a way to transcode an AC3 file to a Dolby Prologic II MP3 (preferably) or AAC file, digitally, with tools free of cost, and not necessarily in real time?
