  1. ok, i got an mpg file i want to convert to dvd..
tmpgeng runs through the file and saves it as 2 files a .wav and a .m2v (whatever that is)

in the output to, there is mpg, avi and wave... but no .vob

is there any prog out there where i can just drag n drop file(s) to one window, select output file format (.vob in this case) and hit run
(maybe have a few filters there as well, like noise contrast ect)

also, i know there are many progs out there to normalize volume on audio files, is there anything to do the same with mpg files?

first try add the mpg in a dvd authoring tool like tmpgenc dvd author. it could already be dvd compliant, no converting needed.

if that does not work add the m2v in tmpgenc dvd author, add the wav audio soruce. author and burn.

or use an all-in-crap-one dvd tool, see our tools list here to the left, https://www.videohelp.com/tools?s=35#35

tmpgenc can normalize the audio, see under settings->audio.

If you already have an MPG file, why then are you running it through and encoder??

If it is already complient, meaning correct resolution and correct audio, you need to author it to DVD with and AUTHORING program, Baldrick already made a great suggestion. There are many authoring programs available. They look and act differently but they all have one thing in common, they produce the DVD file structure you need to burn to produce a dvd that will PLAY on your desk top machine / TV.

DO NOT use a One tool Does all Program.

    Shoot the footage

Transfer opr capture with your N L Editor.

Edit it in the N L Editor

Convert to MG2 - yoou editor should be able to do that. If not
    encode to AVI uncompressed

Load MPGS or AVI* ( *if the authoring Prog will accept it )

Create menus and links ( Authoring )

Output the DVD image, folder structure or directly out put to disk

If I left anything out please correct me but I tried to keep it at its simplest and condensed form

Now this might seem long but it will result in the BEST quality final product depending on utilities you choose. Some ARE better than others.

Use a single Drag and Drop method. Guaranteed crap

    Why?
If a person realizes their mistake, let them "fix" it and be done with it. No need to try to get them carded retroactively.

Your opinion. See https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1275128#1275128 for my opinion.
