    My master writer is Pioneer DVR-108
    My reader is LG GCE-8520B

    For some reason the dvd-reader drive won't detect disks
    Any ideas why this is happening?

    any type of discs or just burned discs?

    i've tried only burnt ones.
    What is also strange is that I just reversed the master/slave ones, causing the reader to be master and burner to be slave. It can read cd's but not dvd's/.

    I have a Pioneer 108D and a LITEON reader. The reader will not read Optodisc R004 disc's. I am waiting for Liteon to update the F/W for the reader. Suggest you may be experiencing a similar problem. Check to see if there is a F/W update for your burner.

    About Master \Slave, I would have the burner as the Master and the reader as the slave.
