  1. Hi,
i hope someone can help me.Before I convert my avi files to mpegs for making vcd, mostly it works fine but on some I couldn't get audio. At first I always cut my files in two parts and there the problem starts, I use virtualdub, the first part is fine but the second haven't any audio, it show in the cutting windows audio is from bginning 0.Then I tried to convert the whole file first to cut it later, but them I haven't any audio at all.So I tried to extract it to wav with tmpge , but the wav file in winamp showes a lenghth of 114 hours. The orignal avi is a dvd rip which works fine as an avi file, good sound and picture.
If would be great if someone have an idea what the problem might be.Thanks

  2. You most likely have an AVI with a huge framerate.
Extract the audio as wav from the AVI with Vdub and then convert to MPEG in TMPEGenc using the AVI as videostream and the extracted WAV as audio steam.

Chances are you will have to cut off a huge black-screen/no audio part off of the mpeg later, but you shouldend up with a proper mpeg after that.
