IMO (may have overlooked something) Nero Dgital Decoder (Nevideo.ax) ist the best DShow decoder for DVDs. The newer versions (capable of AVC playback) don't work anymore without a complete Nero installation, I have heard. Well, I use Nero 6.6 for burning (without VisionExpress), and it installs the video filters anyway and comes with a newer version of nevideo.ax. Without Nero installed, my older DShow filter (Nevideo.ax version 2.0.0.1) works perfectly - now, Zoom Player (old freeware version) & Graphedit report "These filters cannt agree on a connection..." when linking from DVD navigator to Nevideo.ax, meaning my older filter which I have manually re-registered correctly.
An even older version of Nevideo.ax (Nero Digital MPEG-1 & MPEG-2 decoder 1.0.4.6) seem sto be part of the "KLite" Codec Pack, but I simply don't want to download 11 megs I don't need. Maybe it also isn't gonna work anyway. Has anybody tried?
If you like, send this filter to oetting@walla.com please - it isn't warez in my opinion if it can be legally downloaded otherwise.
