I have tried very hard to search for this in the guides. I think there needs to be a keyword search function for guides, but that aside, I would like to know how to go about backing up PS1 and PS2 games.

PS2 (needs to be 'chipped') - DVD Decrypter ISO read/write
    PS1 - not a clue

  3. A modchip is one option. Others would be getting a fliptop case or using a slide tool to pop open the disc tray.

www.gamecopyworld.com or any other of about 580,000 web pages (google )might be better suited for your searching
    If in doubt, Google it.

I rip to the HD a disc image with nero and burn the image file with nero. I have a fliptop ps2 with swap disc and I've only had a few out of 30+ backup ps2 games that wouldn't work. Fliptop case is pretty simple and easy to install

    Modchip installed

All you need is the ALCOHOL 120% program to rip and burn

  7. You can backup with any dvd copy program. They aren't copy protected until you put them in your ps2......

Was a cool program, Bleem, that let you play PS1 games on your PC.

Okay... how does this work, and where can I get one? Most importantly, does it void the warranty? I've been looking about and it seems the best option for me.

The fliptop voids the warranty cause you have to take the cover off to put it on,you can use a slidecard or a knife to slide the mechanism and pull the tray out to put the backup in after you take out the swap disc.

With the new pstwo all you need to do is use plastic q-tips to hold down the switches and use the swap disc that way,no taking apart either.Google for modchips and you will find a lot of places.

I find dvd decrypter the best program to rip ps2 dvds and alcohol 120% for the ps2 cd games.

There's much better programs now to play psone games than bleem could ever play.

Go with an internal mod chip. Swap tricks suck. Although if you don't know anyone who can solder... hehe. *shrug*

Voiding your warranty with a flip top mod is avoidable on a new PS2 slim model. Just use the warranty sticker as a hinge when you open the PS2. Works great!

Gamecopyworld has some great tuts just like jimmalenko said
    http://server1.megagames.com/psx/psx_cdr_software.shtml

Basically any software that can do a direct copy of dvd and cd images will do

I know a great installer if you need a modchip

Also sells some ps2s and xboxes from time to time
