Typically if one had a two hour project in iDVD and burned it to a 4.7 G disk, there would me bore than a fair amount of compression. There would be less of course if iDVD were able to write to a dual layer disk, but it currently can't. If one used Toast to create a dual layer disk (or DVDSP) I assume there is a much higher quality image due to less compression being involved. But does one actually notice the difference? I'm not talking so much about making back-ups of commercial dvds, but of original content, from FCP for example.

You assume there's a "much higher quality image", then ask if the difference is noticeable?
