  1. Hi,

I seem to be having trouble lately creating menus for DVD+R DL discs I make with DVD-Lab Pro.

It seems to happen only with dual layer as all the single layer discs I make are fine.

I usually drag a still frame into the images section, then I use that JPG image as my background. Works fine for single layer.

The VOB files compile fine. I can even play them back on my hard drive with the menu working.

When I burn them to dual layer DVD and play them back in any DVD player (I tried Samsung, Sony and Toshiba), the menu will not appear on the screen. When I press play though, the video plays. I just don't know why the menu will not work.

I am wondering if this is a burning issue, and DVD-Lab issue, or a media issue (I use the Verbatim DVD DL discs). What really bothers me is I have made successful DL DVDs but recently I haven't been able to.

I hope someone can help me figure this out.

    Thanks,

    Mark

  2. Sounds like an issue with your menu structure in DLP.
Post a screen shot of the connections window.

  3. Does this help?

  4. That looks fine.
My next guess is that your burning program isn't setting the layer break properly.

  5. I use Nero for Sony SE and have a Sony internal burner. Is there a setting I need to change?

  6. One of the options in Nero's burning screen, is to set the layer break. Try it.

  7. If this is a layer break problem, is that caused by 1 layer being smaller than the other, and would it help to make the video file a lager bitrate to fill the disc up? That disc was 8.48 GB. If I push it to 8.56 would it take care of the layer break issue?

  8. That should have nothing to do with it.

  9. Oh, OK then, I have a Sony edition of Nero and I cannot find the layer break option anywhere. Would it be better for me to use a different burning application? Is there a more stable one than Nero?

    Thanks for your help.

  10. Go to Nero.com and update (not upgrade). It's free to get dual layer support for OEM software, and burners that support it.

  11. I updated to version 6.6.0.8 and the same thing is happening.

1, The VOB files play fine through Windows Media Player.
    2. The burned DVD DL plays fine in my PC.
    3. The disc will not play in any standalone. The menu never comes up.

I didn't find any option to set layer breaks in the Nero software. I don't know what to do at this point. Do I have yo ytry another burning utility? Is it my DVD burner? I made perfect DVD DLs with no problem but now it just doesn't seem to work.
