I just checked out a new post about finalizing a CD with NERO, and remembered it was almost exactly the post I answered a few days ago. So I thought I'd be a smartass and respond with the old "do a search before you post.. read this post blah blah blah" b.s. So, I did a search from the toolbar on the left for "finalize nero"... 149 hits and about 140 of them come from the DVD Compatability list... Who the heck cares? I don't want to know DVD compatability junk! So then I realized, hey! Maybe that search off the main page doesnt search the forum, so I clicked on Forum and did a search from there.. sure enough, I found exactly what I was looking for (with a whole 7 or 8 hits... thats more like it... who wants to wade through 149 hits for something that probably isnt there).

Moral of the story, perhaps all the newbie people who post topics in the forums which have already been discussed (and usually get some B.S. answer of "search before you post" or something else completely useless) have ALSO done a search from the "Search" link on the left, found zilch and decided to post their question (because as per the rules, they did technically search for the info but didnt find it because the forum wasnt searched)... of course they then get flamed for it.

How about linking the Search on the left to a page that asks... "Would you like to search the forums or the site in general?" So the site doesnt get so many repeat-topic posts... To me, "Search this site" implies searching the ENTIRE site, forums included.

    Just my 2 cents.
