Is the best format to show video on a webpage a WMV file? I tried Windows Media Encoder but the damn thing just freezes. Can I convert using Virtual Dub?

Well, wouldn't the browser need to have those codec to view the video? That would be a problem...

How can I convert to WMV using VirtualDub? I searched the guides, but it doesn't seem to exist. :\
