I have WinDVR with 2000 and a Blaster live sound card. There are 2 bugs: sometimes the sound just is not there at all watching or recording, but will come back if I launch Winfast PVR or reboot. Also, sometimes it reoords the SAP (audio descriptions). Any ideas how to fix this. I can get it to work but both of these problems are somewhat random - or at least I can't figure out what sequence causes them.
Thanks

Yes, I have a KT 133 VIA board. After I recently installed Win 2000, I did not apply the VIA allinone (hyperion) drivers. I am not sure if they are better than the mircosoft drivers. I also don't know if this has anything to do with my problem. I don't have a problem with anything other than WinDVR. I wonder if changing tha audio capture in WinDVR from AC3 to mpeg would make a difference? I have the latest drivers for the soundblaster.
Thanks -
The Hyperion drivers make a lot of difference. Far better than the MS stock junk, that's at least 3 years old.
Works good on my KT400Cheers, Jim

In the case of the KT133, the most recent VIA drivers are from 2001, but they may still be better than the MS version. Anybody have experience like mine with the KT133 and VIA drivers?
Thanks for the help. -
That's why I wrote you "good luck"! Because I use to have various issues like the ones you point here, and I never manage to solve them all.
I just changed motherboard and all the issues solved!!!
Also, if I remember correct, Soundblaster are exactly the soundcards that have issues with VIA chipsets. You have to install the audio card to the third PCI position.
I don't beliebe AC3 /mp2 gonna do the differnece, but you never know, especially when you have a mobo based on a (older) VIA chipset. Just try it, it doesn't harm!
Also try to capture with the built in audio AC97 codec (if your motherboard has one). Unistall your soundcard totally and download lateste AC97 drivers for your test. It might solve some issues!
Use the Via's 3in1 drivers. Usually they help. W2Ks Service pack 3 also helpsLa Linea by Osvaldo Cavandoli

Thanks Sat, I do have onboard sound. It has been so long since I got the soundblaster, I don't remember why I got it. I will try the VIA drivers and 3rd PCI slot (if it isn't already there). If that doesn't work, I will try pullling the card. It is odd that it is only a problem with WinDVR.
Thanks
