    Hi Everyone,

Ok, just recently I had begun work on a DVD of my home movies with my friends. I spent well over 10 hours, maybe 20, on the DVD, creating menu images and connecting everything and making it quite incredible looking!

Well, I just finished the entire DVD with DVD Lab Pro. I hit compile, and the compile menu came up, and I checked to make sure everything seemed right (I am new to the program, so I hoped I was doing it right), and I clicked "Start".

The Compile Screen said it was generating the menus (11 of them total), and it finished then sat with no description, I assumed it was moving to next step, then an error came up...

I don't know what I am doing wrong, and this would be quite irritating if I have no way to resolve this, for I put forth much work into this DVD, and would very much appreciate any help anyone can give!! I may question whether settings are correct on DVD Lab Pro, if anyone knows of the settings, and if they need to be set specific, please let me know.

Thank you for reading and any help you give,

  2. Something is wrong, with either your assets (mixed?) or your menu structure.
Post a screen shot of the assets window, and the connections tab.

usually when you import assets it will ask you if you want to demux them.. depending on how much you have this could take a while.. but i've found if you let dvdlab demux them, its a lot happier.. this bugged me for a week before i tried it.

First, here are the assets, and connections...
Take a look at those and let me know if you see a problem.

Also, I demux all my files right away when it asks.
I know it works easier when they are demuxed and I did it right away with these files when I imported them.

  5. With that confusing connections tab, it's impossible to say if the structure is bad or not.
First, compile using the test. Look for the box on the compilation window that says, "Test Compile (Replace movies with test image).
Play it back in something like WinDVD, or PowerDVD, and see if the menu structure works properly.
If so, then you know it's a problem with the assets.
If not, then you know it's a menu structure problem, and it's time to sort it out.
If you find it's an assets problem, start by transcoding all audio to ac3 in ffmpeggui. Then substitute each mpa with the new ac3 you just made. Compile and test.

I know DLP has had trouble in the past with mpa file extentions, yet works fine with mp2, and ac3.

    I cant even do that!!

When I do the test compile, the error still comes up and it wont produce anything at all!!!

EDIT :: Here are some images of what happens when I do a test compile...

    Afterwards::

    Thanks for reading!!

    EDIT 2 ::

I just recently tested some things out with DVD Lab Pro,
not resolving the problem, but I discovered something!

It seems there is something wrong with my DVD Lab Pro,
I tried to make another DVD, without any elements at all from the original file I had problems with. The same problem happened!

I strongly think it has something to do with settings of some sort that need to be set correctly, sort of like TMPGEnc, without the right settings, it wont work correctly!

    Please help, thanks!

  7. Nope. Something wrong with your menu structure if it won't complete the compile using test images.

Edit: Take the tick mark OUT of "Demux all to ES" on the compile screen.

    Well, woh!!

Considering I wasnt getting any quick help from here (No Offense),
I tried to figure it out myself!

    And, I sorta did!!
I discovered that it was the program itself, and then I also discovered there was a newer version out!!

    Problem solved!
I got the newer version, and compiled with that!
    Worked perfect!!

Thanks for all the help everyone,

May I suggest that you start with simple connection and test it out on a - or + RW disc. Once done correctly, build on it and you will be able to trace the source of the problem. Rather than doing it in a big bang and it will difficult to pin point the problem.
