This is all new to me so I hope that what I'm doing at least makes sense. I'd like to create an AVI file from my DVD using the DivX codec. Most of the guides I have seen seem to describe how to make VideoCD which isn't what I want at the moment and a lot of the tools seem to have problems on Windows XP.
I've been able to rip the DVD into IFO and VOB files using DVD Decrypter. I thought that from there I could just use DVD2AVI to generate the AVI files. And I can, however, I cannot get the audio into the AVI file. It always ends up in its own WAV file. Is this normal?
Then I tried using TMPGenc to merge the audio and video however it seems to only produce MPG files, presumable for VideoCD. Is there a way to get it to use the DivX codec and generate WAV files?
Like I said, this is new to me so maybe I am missing something simple in the whole concept. Either way, suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks.
