hello everyone, i am recently experiencing this problem with my comp and frankly, its ticking me off. what happens is that on my comp, i finish with wat i need to do on my username, and i SWITCH USERS (not LOG OFF). so the main screen of XP shows up. then someone else uses the comp in their username and again switches users to the main screen. when i go back on the comp, i find out my taskbar is missing! i try everything and finally with no choice, i have to log off and back onto my name, its not much of a problem but as i mentioned, its really bothersome. can anyone give advice of what to do about this? thanks alot...

P.S. my taskbar is set to autohide, if it makes any difference...

If your taskbar is set to autohide, then it will be hidden until you hover over it. Uncheck the autohide under taskbar properties.

Maybe you could try turing AutoHide off and see if it solve you problem.

I remember having a taskbar issue in Windows NT and turning Auto Hide off fixed problems.

    skip2mylou,

That's a good trick to play on unsuspecting people. Ever click and drag on the edge of your task bar and make it two or threes lines bigger?

Well, you can actually bring it to the bottom and make it ZERO lines.... Simply bring your cursor to the bottom of the window until you see an UP/DOWN slider pointer and drag it up one or two notches.

What you should do to prevent (accidentaly) doing this is right click on it and LOCK the taskbar, once its the way you like.
    Have a good one,

    neomaine

Don't use switch user. I can cause instability and uses resources needlessly. I disable it on every install I do, along with hibernation. M$ should have left these 'features' off the final list.
