Hey I have I found the following 50 packs for $20 a piece.

Which would you recommend getting if I have a 4x compatiable DVD-R Pioneer DVR-220 player.

(Even though the 3rd link says its more than $20, I can still get the 50 pack for $20 so ignore that)

So yea what would you pick and why?

I was given a spindle of the SONY media that could not be recognized in any of my computer dvd burners. It's really HIT or MISS with SONY MEDIA. With that experience I won't even try it on my 220-S recorder. That's just my 2 cents!

The TDK media works well with my 220-S recorder no problems whatsoever. The VERBATIM is a good brand to use as well although I haven't used it with my 220-S yet. I would go with the TDK & VERBATIM which are both good media to use with any dvd recorder whether it be a standalone or a pc recorder.

  3. According to the media database (to the left) some of the Verbatin is TYG02 which usually considered very good. Usually you look for Made in Japan on the side of the box.

These were made in Taiwan )= All of the Verbatim DVD-Rs that they had whether they were on sale or not, were all made in Taiwan.

Those VERBATIM MADE IN TAIWAN is fine. I use those with my BENQ 1620 that burn flawlessly. They should be fine with the PIONEER 220-S recorder. Unfortunately I don't have any left of the VERBATIM DVD-R MADE IN TAIWAN discs for my 220-S.

Cool thanks for the info. Yea I like Verbatim a lot and dont think they'll let me down. On a side note, do you think I should bulk up on these babies? I mean I already bought 6 50packs, for a total of 300 discs. However, I do plan to record probably about 1200 discs within the next 3 years and even if my recorder breaks Im still going to buy a new one. So do you think this is a wise decision? Or do you think DVD-R media is going to drop in price like CD-Rs did over the years and instead of the Verbatim 50packs that being on sale for the $20 that there are now, that in the future, youll see deals like 50pack Verbatims for $15 or perhaps even $10. By the way do they have any kick a s s deals on Quality named DVD-R's at Best Buy or anywhere else the day after Thanksgiving that would make it a good day to time to stock up on them?

By the way, one more thing. What would you say the difference in quality between there two types of verbatim is. One is $22 for a 25 pack and the other is only sale for $20 for a 50pack that would usually be $39.99. However, lets ignore the fact that there is a sale going on and that the $22 is 1-4X and the $20 for is 1-8x. Do you know off hand what the difference is quality would be?
