I have a 73 min FCE created Movie which was rendered and encoded and backed up to a scratch disk,(saved as QT Movie), before I was going to author it in IDVD5. About a month later, I experienced a HD failure on my PBook and lost a bunch of pictures in the movie from my iPhoto collection. The pictures can still be seen when I play the QT Movie but the link is missing when I open the Original Movie again in FCE (obviously). Is there any way to retrieve these pictures and would this also be a reason I can not burn the DVD in IDVD5 (getting Error message#1) . Thks

Yes, missing assetts ( error-1) is what your getting in iDVD.
At this point, you will need to recreate the stills--
luckily, you have the stills named
( hopefully, and not pict1, pict2, etc) in iDVD.
one of two ways to do this, easiest should be QT Pro,
but you will need to open the QT movie in FCE,
and go in and "create still picture" from
where they appear on the QT movie.
Save these with the EXACT names as they
are listed in iDVD, and into the same folder
as the QT Movie.
Then reopen the movie in FCE, and re-link to
the pictures in the folder
you just created.
Then re-export as a self-contained movie,
and burn in iDVD."Everyone has to learn, so that they can one day teach."
