  1. I have many AVI video clips in different resolution, 352x240, 352x288, 400x304, 512x410, 720x416 etc.
I intend to convert these video clips into VCD or SVCD.
Standard NTSC resolution for VCD is 352x240, and 480x480 for SVCD.
    My question is simple.
How do I know which clip is worth converting to SVCD or VCD by its resolution?

  2. Bsaically the last 3>SVCD, first 2 to VCD (by resolution the first is NTSC VCD, the second PAL VCD, but check the framerate).

Before this load them into virtualdub and add aresize filter to both res', choose the res that looks best to you, small note when going up in res you'll use the bicubic filter, when going down use the bilinear (according to the makers of Paint Shop Pro).

    Hello! Shabubu,

You mean in virtualdub add "resize" filter, 340x252 for VCD and 480x480 for SVCD.
I prefer use TMPGEnc to encode AVI.
How can I "resize" resolution in TMPGEnc?
Do I have to convert PAL format convert to NTSC?
