.mmv to vcd ...is this possible?

I am the owner of SONY DCR-IP5 cam. I wonder if there is any way to edit MICROMV (.mmv) files, convert them into natine MPEG2 files and then burn DVD discs or make a VCD

I made a VCD. I did conversion on movishaker to mpeg1 and then let
and then used NERO to burn a VCD it took takes a long time, as it does another conversion
The result is not good (poor quality) :(
But if U find a way of doing mmv to mpeg2 I want to know too.
