Im converting an xvid file that is widescreen to dvd compliant mpg using tmpgenc pro. The problem is the mpg's are coming out in full screen.....Im choosing "Full Screen - Keep Aspect Ratio" in the Video Arrange method area.(see screenshot) Is this correct? Or is there another option somewhere that I am missing? Thanks!

  2. Just above that, set the source to 1:1 VGA.

  5. Get Gspot, open the file in it, and post a screenshot.
If the audio is VBR mp3, then tmpgenc has choked on it.
There are easy ways to fix it though.

  7. So it is VBR MP3. Demux the audio to wav using VirtualDubMod. Use the original video file for video input and the converted wav file for audio input and re-encode to dvd compliant mpeg2.

OK! Thanks much. Got the audio figured out. Here's the problem now. The audio is a couple seconds out of synch. I see there is a tool in tmpgenc that will allow to account for this delay, but how do I tell it how many msec's to use for the delay? Thanks again all.

  9. Encode a minute of video, figure out about how off the audio is and then enter in the offset. 1000 ms equals 1 second.

ok! I've learned a shitload in the last couple days......I created the .mpg with the correct time delay, then I authored it in DVD-Lab...it took awhile though b/c it had to demux the audio in the mpg. Is this the best way to author the file or should I use a diff't app? Thanks again.

  11. Encode elementary streams, then you don't have to wait so much for dvdlab.
